This storefront handles the information a visitor or customer submits when requesting an account, signing in, placing an order request, contacting the team or using customer-service tools.
- Contact and business details entered in forms or held on an approved customer account.
- Catalogue choices, cart contents, order requests, delivery notes and customer-service messages.
- Return or correction details and any supporting photos the customer chooses or is required to provide.
- Account, order, invoice and payment-history records shown to an authorised customer.
Why it is used
The information is used to operate the customer relationship: review access requests, show the right catalogue and prices, prepare and fulfil orders, answer questions, handle returns or corrections, maintain accounting records and protect accounts.
A customer account is connected to the business customer record in ControlGrid so that submissions reach the corresponding office workflow instead of creating a second, disconnected record.
Cookies, browser storage and installation
Sign-in uses session cookies. The storefront also uses browser storage for practical choices such as the cart, language and currency, and for the home-screen app experience.
The installed version still opens the live storefront. It does not keep offline copies of prices, statements, orders or return information.
Service providers and retention
Configured providers may process information where needed for hosting, authentication, email or messaging, delivery, accounting and other customer-service work. The exact providers depend on the connections enabled by the business.
Records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business and accounting records, resolve questions and meet applicable obligations. Different records can require different periods.
